Regeneris is delighted to be commissioned by Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership (SWLEP), to produce a new Local Economic Assessment (LEA).
SWLEP is an important economic region within the UK, being home to significant global employers, nationally important assets and a high quality natural environment. SWLEP’s ambitions for future growth are considerable; with the opportunity for the area to deliver on objectives to be set out in the government’s imminent Industrial Strategy in turn reaffirming its credentials as a thriving and prosperous place.
The LEA will provide SWLEP with the robust and up-to-date evidence base it needs to make informed decisions about the local economy. The research will provide answers to fundamental questions around the factors which are driving, and inhibiting growth, and sets the basis for SWLEP’s future strategic direction and investment choices. This includes understanding the relationship between urban and rural areas and how the economy is functioning in a wider context. Critically, the LEA will reflect a dynamic policy environment and consider how SWLEP can prosper, as the UK’s relationship with Europe evolves.
Regeneris’ economic analytical and presentation skills will be at the fore of this commission and will ensure the most pertinent and important research questions are answered. This work will also help SWLEP to define its strategic direction and where it will prioritise its investment going forward.
The research will be delivered in partnership with SWLEP and wider stakeholders and is expected to conclude in early 2018.
