Finance Wales has commissioned Regeneris Consulting to undertake a final evaluation of the Wales JEREMIE fund. This follows our mid-term evaluation which was completed in February 2012 and complements other work we have carried out in this area. The Wales JEREMIE Fund was the first of its type to be launched in the UK and one of the first in the European Union. It became operational in 2009 and has made available £150 million in loan, mezzanine and equity finance for SMEs located (or intending to locate) in Wales. The Fund is managed and delivered by Finance Wales, a subsidiary of the Welsh Government and is expected to make an important contribution to the vitality of Welsh SMEs.
Our evaluation will provide a detailed review of the overall performance of The Fund and the extent to which it has been able to add value across the Welsh economy in terms of addressing the finance gap, stimulating the supply side of the market, collaborating with other forms of business support in Wales and ultimately supporting enterprise, innovation and job creation. Regeneris is working closely with Finance Wales to speak to a variety of stakeholders and intermediaries who have knowledge of the finance landscape in Wales and insight on the impact and performance of the JEREMIE fund.
