Regeneris to Carry Out a Study of Further Education and Skills in Romney Marsh

The Romney Marsh Partnership (RMP) is an economic regeneration partnership formed in 2012 to lead the delivery of the Romney Marsh Delivery Plan, an economic strategy targeted at mitigating the negative consequences of decommissioning the Dungeness ‘A’ nuclear power station and securing a stronger economic future for the area.  The delivery plan seeks to facilitate access to employment, including helping young people into work, inclusive labour markets, and strengthening sector skills. The plan seeks to strengthen the business base through developing sectoral strengths, supporting enterprise, and ensuring that the infrastructure is in place to support business growth.

Regeneris Consulting are working on behalf of Shepway District Council to map existing post-16 skills provision in the Romney Marsh area.  This will inform understanding of the needs and future needs of local employers and the types of employers that the RMP and Shepway District Council aspire to attract. We are working with the Romney Marsh Partnership to put together a 10-year plan to ensure that the future skills needs of local employers are met and that there is a sustainable skills training provision available to employers and residents of Romney Marsh.
