Liverpool City Council wanted to develop a long-term vision and a set of strategic priorities to harness the digital infrastructure of the city. Their goal was to secure economic advantage for the local digital sector, reinvent public sector service delivery and secure the skills residents need for the digital world.
Regeneris developed a strategy built on a desk-based review of digital infrastructure across Liverpool and economic conditions and opportunities in the city. Our work provided Liverpool City Council with a long-term vision and a set of strategic priorities for exploiting new broadband and wi-fi to help the economy grow, enhance delivery of public services and improve the way local residents engage in city life. The plan included aspirations to further improve internet speeds and access across the city, along with wider ideas to boost adoption and exploitation among visitors, residents and businesses and to drive forward digital skills.
The Digital Strategy for Liverpool Vision has underpinned the development of Liverpool’s digital infrastructure including plans for the Commercial District and connectivity vouchers for SMEs in the city.
