Creative and Digital Strategy for Lewisham

Lewisham has long considered itself London’s creative borough. Since 2001 it has placed creative industries at the heart of council activity, capitalising upon the assets that exist in the borough (Goldsmiths University, Horniman Museum and the Albany to name just three).

LB Lewisham now wants to update its strategy and look in more detail at both the Creative and Digital Industries as part of its Sector Growth Strategy. Regeneris has been commissioned to provide a detailed understanding of Lewisham’s ‘creative DNA’ and how growth in these industries could benefit Lewisham’s residents and places. We will also support the council in developing a strategy where it could work with partners to positively affect change in the area.

Working with We Made That and Tom Fleming Creative Consultancy, we have undertaken a detailed assessment of current creative and digital activity in Lewisham, identifying specific clusters of activity within the borough. These local clusters, each with specific specialisms, will become the basis of the strategy and stronger communication of the creative opportunity in Lewisham.
