Dr. Ricardo Gomez

Ricardo is an Associate Director in our Manchester office. He rejoined Regeneris in 2010, having previously been with the company from 2006-2009.Ricardo is an experienced economic development and regeneration consultant who has worked for private and public sector clients across the full spectrum of our core services. He has specialised in the evaluation and design of business support programmes, with particular focus on manufacturing, science and innovation. His broader experience includes local economic development & sectoral strategies, employment land reviews and consultancy to support investments in tourist facilities.

In the past 2 years, Ricardo has led major assignments for Regeneris Consulting including our study of high skilled labour markets for the Manchester Independent Economic Review (MIER Labour Markets, Skills and Talent) and a strategy to tackle urban flight in the East Midlands (Capturing the Urban Offer). He managed evaluations of the North West’s Agenda for Change Programme (Manufacturing Advisory Service), the North West Aerospace Supply Chain Excellence Programme and a review of pilot innovation and ICT advisory services to business in the West Midlands. Our evaluations led to us providing further advice to clients about the design and delivery of business support services.

Ricardo rejoined Regeneris Consulting after a year as Operations Director of Visit Chester and Cheshire. Previously, he had careers as a regional economic policy advisor in local government, and before that as an academic specialising in European, national and regional economic policies. Away from the office, he combines a passion for baseball with time in the garden learning to grow fruit, vegetables and herbs.
