Stuart Younger
Stuart joined Regeneris Consulting in January 2009, after working for five years in local government and completing a Masters degree in Local and Regional Regeneration.With a background in town centre regeneration he has started working for the company on a project for the Manchester Commission for Economic Development, Employment and Skills, assessing the economic roles of key town centres in the Greater Manchester area.
Stuart has worked at local authorities in North and East Yorkshire, and Cheshire. His career began as a coordinator of a Community Safety Partnership, before moving onto roles as coordinator of town centre regeneration partnerships. His experience has been largely in the development of strategy, key projects and multi-sector partnerships.
For the last two years Stuart has undertaken a part-time Masters degree in Local and Regional Regeneration at Leeds Metropolitan University. This allowed him to explore a wide range of topics including ‘sustainable communities’ concepts, community engagement in regeneration partnerships and the role of alternative culture in city regeneration. His dissertation explored the value of high quality public realm in the regeneration of town centres.
In his spare time Stuart enjoys travelling and going to events and festivals, spending time with friends and keeping fit.
