Prof. Jim Coleman

Jim is a highly-experienced economist, specialising in local and regional economic development and urban regeneration. He joined Regeneris Consulting in 2006 and runs the company’s London office.Jim has consultancy expertise in a wide range of fields including local economic competitiveness, labour markets and skills, business and sector development, inward investment, social inclusion and social enterprise.

Key areas of work involve strategy development and implementation, economic scenario building and local futures, programme and policy evaluation and local area economic assessment. He has particular expertise in the London economy.

Before joining Regeneris Consulting, Jim spent four years with EDAW plc (now AECOM) and, previously, five years with DTZ Consulting based initially in Manchester and subsequently in Dublin. Prior to this, he was a lecturer in the Economics Department of Durham University. Jim is currently a Visiting Professor in the School of Architecture and the Built Environment, University of Westminster. He is also an Honorary Senior Research Associate at the Bartlett School of Planning, UCL and was a member of the CABE Expert Panel on Sustainable Urban Design.
