Simon Hallam

Simon is an experienced economist and Associate Director at Regeneris Consulting, with over 10 years of consultancy, research and policy experience.During his time at Regeneris, Simon has led many of our high-profile evaluations and programme development projects. These cover a wide range of policy areas including enterprise, innovation, skills and employability, at national, regional and local levels. He specialises in the economics of technology exploitation and links between economic growth and local employment.

Simon’s evaluation experience includes major evaluations of a wide range of ERDF and RDA-funded business support activities in the North East and the South East, activities to boost innovation in Greater Manchester and Local Enterprise and Growth Initiative (LEGI) programmes across the north of England.

Simon previously worked for the North West Regional Assembly, where he supported the organisation through the Policy and Development Directorate in the development and implementation of economic prosperity activity and oversaw all of its work in relation to the regional economic strategy. Simon also spent four years at Cambridge Econometrics, where he specialised in the analysis of econometric datasets and had overall responsibility for producing the organisation’s principal report, ‘Industry and the British Economy’.
