Role: Associate Director
Date: 12th September 2017
Regeneris Consulting has just been re-appointed by Lancashire County Council to evaluate Boost – Lancashire’s Business Growth Hub. We will be reviewing the achievements of this £7m investment which has been part-funded by the EU and which aims to “accelerate the growth of small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in Lancashire, to stimulate new investment and job creation by systematically identifying and removing the barriers to their growth, by encouraging innovation and in promoting enterprise”.
Our team is evaluating how the service is being delivered and what is going well. We will be assessing Boost’s impact on the economy and testing whether it is on track to meet its contracted outputs. Our team of expert evaluators will also be drawing on their breadth of experience in business support to advise on how Boost might be enhanced over the coming years. This builds on previous reviews Regeneris has undertaken of earlier rounds of Boost and we will be returning to conduct a final evaluation in 2018.
Lauren Newby, Associate Director at Regeneris Consulting, said, “Given the recent publication of DCLG’s Summative Assessment Guidance (which Regeneris contributed to) and government’s focus on encouraging economic growth in the north by supporting SMEs, our work should help Lancashire County Council make a strong case for developing Boost’s offer to local businesses.”
